IT Staff Profile: Curtis

Curtis Hynes has been working for the school division since November 2016. He began as a front line technician but in 2018 he accepted the role of Infrastructure Analyst – Telecommunications. This position was created because of the division-wide roll out of the classroom audio, paging and phone systems. Curtis is our point man and subject matter expert on this project. You may see him out at your school testing the intercoms and bells to ensure they are working at their best!

Curtis was born in Halifax and grew up in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. He attended Dalhousie University in Halifax where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science in 2015. While there he met his now wife Shea who is from Moose Jaw but was studying at Dalhousie at the time. Following university Curtis moved to Moose Jaw where he now lives with his wife and 2 children, Harriet and Herschel.

Fun fact! There are 2 people named Curtis in our department but one is spelled with a C and the other is spelled with a K. You may hear us affectionately call this Curtis ‘C-urtis’ (pronounced Sea-urtis).
