IT Staff Profile: Tom

Tom has worked for the school division since February of 2009. He began as a Network Administrator but quickly moved over to his current role of Systems Architect. Tom is responsible for much of the backbone of our device deployments. If you have ever heard of the technicians ‘imaging’ a device this is made possible by Tom and the applications he supports. In addition to device deployment Tom also oversees the infrastructure that updates devices that are already in use; we do this so we can remain current and secure! Many of the invisible services that let your device operate effectively and safely are overseen by Tom.

Tom was born in Regina and attended Herchmer Elementary School followed by Martin High School. After high school he attended SIAST in Saskatoon where he completed 1 year of their Computer System Technology course. Following this Tom was offered a job at the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region in their IT department.

Tom has spent roughly 15 years in training in various martial arts and in fact has his black belt in Hapkido. He is also an avid gamer and has actually competed in professional eSports events, and he has won money doing so!
